A LARGE GOODBYE

2010 has seen our largest school leavers group to date with 38 children moving on to reception classes in Ringwood, Poulner, West Moors, Bransgore, Christchurch, St Ives, Fordingbridge and more. The local schools in Ringwood and the surrounding villages have been generous with their time, welcoming us into their classes to help us help settle our children into their new environments. Earlier in the summer Ringwood and Poulner and West Moors reception teachers visited the children here at the nursery too.

To celebrate moving onto the next stage in their lives we recently held a graduation party, inviting all the children and their parents too. We had the fantastic Puppets of Wye-ten theatre to entertain us, great cakes provided by our chef, staff and parents and FUN with music, dance and bubbles, face paints and magical playdough too.

As a surprise for their parents the school leavers were each presented with a leaving certificate, I heard rumours that some of these would be making their way into early Record of Achievement folders.

We send our best wishes with all the children leaving the nursery at this time.

It’s Outstandingly Good at Ringwood Day Nursery

Ringwood Day Nursery’s excellent reputation has been re-confirmed in the result of their recent Ofsted inspection. The nursery, who has also received the National Day Nurseries Association’s Gold Quality Award in February 2009, was inspected on the 19th May this year and all aspects of the nursery were rigorously scrutinised.  

The inspector noted that the nursery has a “welcoming and child centred environment” and the “children are confident and settled and actively participate in a broad range of quality activities”.

The excellent management systems and good quality of staff interactions were also highlighted.

Several parents spoke with the inspector and their positive comments along with the inspector’s observations meant the nursery was rated Outstanding in its Partnership with Parents.

The nursery children and staff gathered for a group photograph to mark the successful inspection.

Whats Gone On

June 2010 | Future Grand Prix Drivers

During June we had a surprise visit of a road ready pedal car to the nursery. The children were excited to try out the Spirit of Royce pedal car that will be taking part in the British Pedal Car Grand Prix on Sunday 11th July in Ringwood. The staff and children at Ringwood Day Nursery are celebrating after they were recently awarded a Level 3 Gold Award, the highest quality accreditation from the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA). The nursery has been recognised nationally as being ‘Investors in children’.

Over 2000 nurseries are registered with the NDNA and only 15 % of them hold the highest level of award and Ringwood Day Nursery is now proud to be one of them.

Completing this accreditation has enabled staff to evaluate and implement improvement’s to enable them to achieve and continue to provide, the highest quality throughout every aspect of the nursery. Being awarded the kite-mark is an excellent indicator of this quality and the nursery’s ongoing commitment to excellent standards of care. The nursery is presently the only one in Hampshire to hold this level of award.
